September is one of our favorite months at Slick Rock Tanning & Spa, and not just because fall glow season is in full swing. Every September, we open our doors to the community for something that goes beyond beautiful skin. This year, we’re proud to partner with The Salvation Army Boise and The Salvation Army Spokane to collect urgently needed hygiene products for individuals and families right here in our neighborhoods.
Our hygiene drive runs all month long, September 1–30, at every Slick Rock Tanning & Spa location. Whether you’re a longtime client or simply someone who wants to make a difference, you’re welcome to stop by and drop something off.
Why Hygiene Donations Matter
When people think of giving, they often picture food drives, clothing donations, or holiday toy collections. But one of the most overlooked needs in our community is access to basic hygiene items.
Here are some facts:
- Hygiene products are rarely donated, yet they’re among the most urgently needed supplies.
- Without them, individuals face barriers to health, employment, and confidence.
- For families, not having shampoo, razors, or toothpaste adds unnecessary stress to already difficult situations.
Imagine trying to go to a job interview without deodorant, or sending your child to school without having access to toothpaste before they hit the door. These aren’t luxuries. They’re everyday essentials that uphold dignity and support overall wellness.
By donating to our hygiene drive, you’re giving more than products. You’re giving someone the chance to face the day with confidence. And since Slick Rock is all about radiating confidence, we’re all in.

You don’t have to give it all. Even a few items can make someone’s week a little brighter. Think about what you’d want if you suddenly didn’t have access to a store or couldn’t afford to restock. That’s exactly what you can provide.
How to Participate in the Hygiene Drive
Joining in is simple. Here’s exactly how it works:
Step 1. Pick up one or more full-size hygiene items from the list above. Full-size only, please, so donations go as far as possible for the people who need them.
Step 2. Stop by any Slick Rock Tanning & Spa location between September 1–30. Drop your donation at the front desk, and our team will take it from there.
Step 3. Receive 1 giveaway ticket entry for every full-size hygiene item you donate. The more you bring, the more chances you have to win!*
Step 4 (bonus). Take advantage of our BOGO Tan Extender deal. Buy one tan extender and gift the free one to the Hygiene Drive, and earn 3 ticket entries for that pair. It’s a great way to give back and stock up at the same time.
Step 5. At the end of September, we’ll draw one winner at each Spa location for our WellFit Kit giveaway—a $165 value featuring our Cleanser, Toner, and Serum.
